My Housing Options Stakeholder Engagement Pack

Purpose & Instructions 

Thank you for supporting My Housing Options – My Housing Options (MHO) is a co-designed toolkit developed by Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) and the Department of Housing and Public Works (DHPW) to support people with disability, their families, and supporters to explore and plan housing pathways.  

This stakeholder pack has been created to make it easy for you to help spread the word.  

Below, you’ll find: 

  • 3 x Social media posts with alt text and a suggested caption 
  • A ready-to-send email copy 

How You Can Help: 

  1. Post on social media – Use the provided image, alt text and suggested caption to promote the program on your personal or organisation channel.
    Click on the image to download the original file.
  1. Share the email – Copy and paste the email text, Update the email, forward the email copy to your networks, colleagues, and community groups who may benefit from or be interested in the program

How do I use the Toolkit?

This website along with the co-designed resources support Queenslanders with disability think about where they want to live, who they want to live with, the features that matter most in a home.

Housing is a home, not just an address. The My Housing Options Toolkit contains helpful information, videos, activities, and downloadable resources to guide you on your housing journey.

A great place to start is the My Housing Options Workbook, but you don’t have to start there. You can use all the resources in the Toolkit, or just the ones that are most useful to you right now. There’s no “right” way. This Toolkit is here to support your journey, at your pace.

The My Housing Options Toolkit is a valuable tool for anyone with disability exploring housing options and the Toolkit includes: 

  • A Workbook for people with disability to make a plan  
  • Resources for workers, supporters and carers to assist people with disability on their housing journey 
  • Easy-to-understand fact sheets 
  • Practical exercises to help with decision-making 
  • Real-life digital stories from people with lived experience 
  • A directory of support organisations 

Developed by Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) and funded by the Department of Housing and Public Works, the My Housing Options Toolkit is a co-designed, person-centred resource tailored to support people at all stages of their housing journey—from first thoughts about moving, to preparing for a transition, or actively searching for a new home.
